Abstract

This study examines the implementation of sharia communication ethics by the production and creative teams on the Golden Fit television program broadcast on IMNC Channel, an Islamic-themed broadcasting media. The research background is based on the lack of empirical studies that specifically analyze the application of sharia communication principles in the context of producing health television content. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, primary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with four key informants—producer, creative director, senior editor, and content coordinator—and non-participant observation during the eight-week production process. Secondary data were sourced from internal documents, production SOPs, and archives of broadcast episodes. The analysis was conducted using the framework of the six Qaulan principles in the Qur'an: Sadidan, Ma'rufan, Balighan, Kariman, Layinan, and Maysura. The results show that the Golden Fit production team has implemented the five principles of sharia communication ethics adaptively, with the highest intensity in Qaulan Sadidan (verification of health information) and Qaulan Kariman (respect for interview subjects). However, a gap was found between the ideal values of Sharia ethics and the commercial demands of the media, particularly in the dimensions of Qaulan Balighan and Layinan. The novelty of this research lies in the development of an analytical model for the implementation of Sharia communication ethics based on television production stages, a previously unformulated approach. These findings provide a practical contribution to the Islamic values-based media industry in Indonesia.
